Helping out on the farm

What is the HOOF project?

HOOF is an outdoor based adult social care project for those with learning disabilities and autism. We work all across the farm using a variety of tools and skills.

Some of the jobs we do include managing our woodland by taking down old trees and planting new ones, growing vegetables and flowers and using a range of hand tools for sawing and weeding.

If you are interested, then you can fill out the this referral form and email it to us. If we think you’d benefit from working in the HOOF team we will invite you for a taster day, then a 6 week trial if that goes well.

What do we provide?

We have enough staff to work in a 1 staff to 4 service users’ ratio. Staff cannot provide 1:1 support for service users, however if you need 1:1 support you can bring your own support staff.

We provide all the PPE you’ll need to work here, including work gloves and boots. You will need to make sure you are dressed appropriately for outdoor work and for the weather.

Donate and Support our work

If you would like to donate to the running of the HOOF team you can do so in the following ways:

Click here and reference ‘HOOF’ in the donation or head to the farm and make a donation in our reception.

Many of the HOOF team members have been coming to the farm for years, for some it is like a second home. They are an essential team that help with the upkeep of the farm site, whilst also bringing a lot of joy and fun to the atmosphere of the farm. Any and all donations will be greatly and deeply apprechiated – Thank You!
