We Need Your Help!

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
The Farm has submitted an application for a grant of £10,000 for the provision of an all-weather outdoor classroom next to the EpiCentre building.
As part of its 150yr anniversary celebrations, Yorkshire Building Society Lasting Legacy Fund has set aside £150,000 to be shared equally between 15 local charities around the country.
We are delighted MVUF is in the list of 30 charities from which the final 15 will be selected by the public. Voting can ONLY take place on line by copying the link below and pasting into your browser.

You will then be able to see the candidates listed

Please support the Farm by voting for us before voting closes at midnight 31st October 2014.

YBS Lasting Legacy Fund website, where more information can be found, says:

Voting is open to all members of the public visiting this website. You may only vote for your three favourite charities once. Votes can only be made online; we cannot accept votes by any other method. Voting closes at midnight on 31 October 2014. We reserve the right to close this campaign at any time should circumstances change. Thank you for your support and please share this with as many people as possible.

Come along to the Scary Scarecrow Fun Day but be prepared to be scared!

There will be lots to do and see including face painting, bat crafts, apple bobbing, whack the rat, a trick or treat trail and of course you will be able to come and see all the scarecrows and judge which is best.

Don’t forget to enter your own scarecrow, its really easy. Just make a scarecrow and bring it to the Farm by 4.00pm on Wednesday 30th October.

If you need a bit of help with your scarecrow there will be scarecrow building workshops running on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th October from 11.00am to 3.00pm.

Your scarecrows will need to be super scary as well as circus themed.

Good Luck with your entries!

Tragic News

Two weeks ago, Farm Staff and Volunteers were very upset by some bad news.  Early on Saturday morning Errol, one of our alpacas was found lying in the field very severely injured.  His injuries were so severe the vet had no alternative but to put Errol to sleep.

A dog collar was found nearby in the field and Errol’s injuries suggest he was attacked by a dog.

At MVUF dogs have always been welcome and the majority of visitors act responsibly by keeping their dog on a lead at all times and under close control.  The tragic and fatal incident suffered by Errol reinforces the request that all dogs must be on a lead at all times and we ask that visitors respect this request.
