For Sale
What’s for sale at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm?
At the Farm we have a surprisingly wide variety of items for sale; from the large, (bicycles) to the small, (native wild flower seeds) and the living, (laying hens)!
In Spring and Summer our own organically grown plants are available in the Farm Shop. From delphiniums, begonias, hollyhocks and lupins to pumpkins, cucumbers, garden peas and sweetcorn, our potted produce feature varieties that supermarkets just don’t sell. Take home a selection and give your family’s taste buds a real treat! An attractive range of hanging baskets and planters are on display, as well as a wide selection of individual potted plants. Towards the end of Summer we have different varieties of incredibly tasty honey. This has proved extremely popular and always sells out fast!
We also sell things for the gardener; wooden bedding posts, wood chip mulch, seeds and plants are all for sale at different times of the year.
It’s best to phone the Farm to check in advance if you’re after something specific, or just pop in for a surprise!
Something that’s nearly always available to buy are our delicious eggs. Every morning there are an abundance of warm, freshly laid eggs to be collected. These are sold in our shop for the bargain price of £1 a half dozen!
Bicycles are reconditioned in our bike workshop by pupils on one of our educational projects. They are closely supervised and inspected by Rob Paige, our Education Officer and a qualified bike mechanic. There’s a range to suit a variety of ages and interests, from adult racers to children’s mountain bikes. We advise you to phone the Farm to check what’s in stock if you’re interested.
All the money raised goes straight back into helping keep the Farm going, buying equipment for use on our schools projects, new fencing and maintenance. So buy from the Farm and give to charity at the same time!
Thanks for your support.
