Education

Meanwood Valley Urban Farm has a great deal to offer schools and other youth groups. We are a working farm; with sheep, cows, pigs, goats, chickens and a variety of smaller animals. In addition to our animals, we also have woodland, meadowland and three ponds on site. The EpiCentre and Farm offer many examples of sustainable development.

The Farm offers a wide variety of half and full day projects, suitable for a range of abilities and ages. We aim to keep the day very hands on and interactive for the children, encouraging learning and understanding through discovering things for themselves.

Times

Full day projects run from 10am to 3pm, and lunch can be eaten in the EpiCentre. Half-day projects run from 10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm although times can be flexible.

What to Bring

Emphasis is on outdoor, hands on learning, so make sure the children have outdoor wear and wellies if it is wet. If it is a full day project, bring packed lunches.

Health & Safety

All projects will be run by members of the Farm staff. Many areas of the Farm are accessible for the disabled, and we provide toilet and hand washing facilities for all. Every project has been risk-assessed and if you would like a copy, please download from the website.
